Hello!

I've always known that whatever I did I wanted to do something creative. From the third grade until halfway through my senior year of high school, I was convinced that would be writing. However, my speech and debate coach asked me to Student Director our production of Little Shop of Horrors. I knew on opening night that I had to be part of this world.

Then came the next question of college. Having to tell my parents 'Hey! I got accepted to this great school for creative writing...but I'm not going' was an interesting conversation, to say the least. But I knew this was what I wanted and if it wasn't then I would figure out a next step then. With all the boldness and anxiousness inside me, I decided to apply and pursue a degree in Technical Theatre & Stage Management. Now that I had found where I would be chasing after this crazy dream, I had to know how exactly I fit into the world of theatre. Directing had been my introduction but I quickly fell in love with all that technical theatre had to offer. I spent the beginning of my college career stage managing and then expanded my knowledge & experience into the world of lighting.

I've found that by developing my skills in multiple aspects of theatre, it helps me to better understand all of them. At least, I like that explanation better than I'm a busy body who just wanted to jump at any opportunity put in front of me. Combining my interests as a technician, a lighting designer, and a stage manager constantly keeps me on my toes and lets me view this art constantly in different perspectives.
